Joss Stone, born Joscelyn Eve Stoker on 11 April 1987, is a British singer, songwriter, and actress. She gained fame in late 2003 with her multi-platinum debut album, The Soul Sessions, which was shortlisted for the 2004 Mercury Prize. Her second album, Mind Body & Soul, topped the UK Albums Chart for one week and included the top ten UK hit "You Had Me." Both the album and single received Grammy nominations in 2005, and Stone was nominated for Best New Artist. She was ranked fifth in the 2004 BBC Sound of poll and became the youngest British female singer to top the UK Albums Chart.
Stone's third album, Introducing Joss Stone (2007), achieved gold status in the US and was her first top five album on the Billboard 200. Her fourth and fifth albums, Colour Me Free! (2009) and LP1 (2011), both reached the top 10 on Billboard. The Soul Sessions Vol. 2 (2012) was her fourth consecutive top 10 Billboard album. She has sold 14 million albums worldwide, with over 2.7 million copies sold in the US and over 2 million in the UK from her first albums. Stone has won two Brit Awards and one Grammy from five nominations. She made her film debut in Eragon (2006) and her television debut as Anne of Cleves in The Tudors (2009). In 2006, she was the youngest woman on the Sunday Times Rich List with £6 million, and in 2012 her net worth was estimated at £10 million, making her the fifth richest British musician under 30.
