Kimberly Michelle Pate, known as K. Michelle, is an American R&B singer, songwriter, television personality, guitarist, and pianist. She signed with Jive Records in 2009, releasing the single "Fakin' It" featuring Missy Elliott and three other R&B-charting singles before leaving the label. In 2012, she appeared on VH1's reality series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, which led to a contract with Atlantic Records.
Her debut album, Rebellious Soul, was released on August 13, 2013, debuting at number 2 on the US Billboard 200 and number one on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The Rebellious Soul Musical, directed by Idris Elba, premiered on VH1 on August 19, 2014. Michelle starred in her own reality show, K. Michelle: My Life, and released her second album, Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart?, which debuted at number 6 on the Billboard 200 and topped the R&B/Hip-Hop chart. She is the first African American with an endorsement deal with Jack Daniels and is developing her own drink. Her third album, More Issues Than Vogue, was released on March 25, 2016, debuting at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and number one on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart.
