Kaila Yu is the stage name of Elaine Yang, a Taiwanese American singer, songwriter, and former model. She is the lead vocalist for the all-Asian-American female rock band Nylon Pink, which includes Katt Lee on bass, Kiki Wongo on lead guitar, Jamie Scoles on drums, and Yuki Ito on keyboards. Yu is also a founder of the jewelry and fashion line "Hello Drama," associated with Nylon Pink.
Yu has worked as an import model featured in magazines such as Stuff, Maxim, FHM, and House of Roses. She appeared in the films Dark Blue and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and has hosted shows on MTV Asia, MTV Chi, Music Plus TV, TorqueTV, Octane TV, and Ripe TV. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in economics after transferring from the University of California, San Diego, where she initially studied biology.
