Kate del Castillo Negrete Trillo (born October 23, 1972) is a Mexican and American actress. She became known at age 20 for her lead role in the 1989 Televisa telenovela Muchachitas. She continued her career in Latin American film and television.
In 2011, del Castillo gained recognition in the United States for her lead role in La Reina del Sur. Since then, she has appeared in several American TV series and had supporting roles in Hollywood films.
