Lauren Keyana "Keke" Palmer (born August 26, 1993) is an American actress, singer, songwriter, presenter, and television personality. She was born in Harvey, Illinois, and raised in Robbins, Illinois. After her film debut, Palmer and her family moved to California to support her acting career. She released her debut album, So Uncool, on September 18, 2007, through Atlantic Records. The album did not chart on the US Billboard 200 but reached number 85 on the R&B chart. The lead single was "Keep It Movin'".
Palmer made her acting debut in the 2004 film Barbershop 2: Back in Business and gained recognition in 2006 with her role in Akeelah and the Bee and Madea's Family Reunion. She starred in films including The Longshots (2008), Shrink (2009), Joyful Noise, Winx Club: The Secret of the Lost Kingdom, Ice Age: Continental Drift, and Virgin Mary in 2012. Her television work includes films like Knights of the South Bronx (2005), Jump In! (2007), and Rags (2012), as well as the lead role in Nickelodeon's True Jackson, VP, for which she earned $20,000 per episode, making her the fourth highest-paid child star on television. She was a series regular on Scream Queens, which premiered on Fox on September 22, 2015.
