Lieke Elisabeth Petronella Martens, born 16 December 1992, is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a winger or midfielder for Division 1 Féminine club Paris Saint-Germain and the Netherlands national team. She began her professional career playing for Dutch, German, and Belgian clubs near her hometown of Bergen, Limburg.
Martens gained international recognition in 2015 by scoring the Netherlands' first ever goal in a Women's World Cup against New Zealand. In 2016, her performances at Swedish club FC Rosengård led to a transfer to FC Barcelona in 2017. That year, she was the standout player as the Netherlands won the UEFA Women's Euro, earning Player of the Tournament. She was also named The Best FIFA Women's Player and UEFA Women's Player of the Year in 2017. In the 2018–19 season, she helped Barcelona reach their first UEFA Women's Champions League final. Martens played in the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup despite a toe injury, with the Netherlands finishing as runners-up. In 2021, she was a key player in FC Barcelona Femení's continental treble, winning the UEFA Women's Champions League, Primera Division, and Copa de la Reina in the same season.
