Luciana de Andrade, known as Lu Andrade, was born on September 18, 1978. She is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, presenter, and actress. In 2002, she won the talent show Popstars and joined the Brazilian girl group Rouge until 2004, recording two studio albums: Rouge (2002) and C'est La Vie (2003). She left the group in 2004 due to a lack of identification with its musical style. Rouge sold 6 million copies in total and was one of the most successful girl groups in Brazil and worldwide.
After leaving Rouge, Andrade returned to her parents' home in Varginha and later moved to São Paulo in 2005 to study music and refine her musical style. She worked as a backing vocalist for several artists and became a reporter for the Show Total program from 2007 to 2009. In 2010, she debuted in the Brazilian version of the musical Into The Woods. She released her first single, "Mind and Heart," in 2012, followed by "Amanheceu" in 2014. In 2015, she formed the Duo Elétrico project and became the vocalist for the band Aries during its 25th-anniversary tour. In 2016, she hosted the online program Estúdio Acesso Cultural and worked as a singing instructor at the Souza Lima Conservatory, where she had studied music 15 years earlier.
