Maria Höfl-Riesch (born November 24, 1984, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen as Maria Riesch) is a former German alpine ski racer. She was considered an all-rounder and was one of the most successful athletes during her career.
Her major achievements include three Olympic gold medals at the 2010 Vancouver and 2014 Sochi Winter Games, winning the overall Alpine Ski World Cup in the 2010/11 season, and gold medals at the World Championships in 2009 and 2013. She also won five World Cup discipline titles and five junior world championship titles. Höfl-Riesch won World Cup races in four out of five disciplines. She ranks as Germany's top alpine ski Olympic champion and is the second-best German woman in the World Cup rankings after Katja Seizinger. Among German female World Championship participants, she ranks third after Christl Cranz and Rosi Mittermaier.
