Maria Rosaria "Mara" Carfagna (born December 18, 1975) is an Italian politician and former showgirl and model. She earned a law degree and worked in Italian television and modeling before entering politics. She was elected to the Chamber of Deputies for the Forza Italia party in 2006.
Carfagna served as Minister for Equal Opportunity from 2008 to 2011 in the Berlusconi IV Cabinet. She was named "the most beautiful minister in the world" and ranked number one on Maxim's "World's Hottest Politicians." She is the spokeswoman for the Forza Italia parliamentary group in the Chamber of Deputies and was the most voted councilor in Italy in the last municipal elections in Naples, receiving over six thousand personal votes.
