Megan Jovon Ruth Pete (born February 15, 1995), known professionally as Megan Thee Stallion, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Houston, Texas. She began writing and performing raps as a teenager and started releasing them on SoundCloud in late 2016. She gained attention through freestyling videos on social media and has released three EPs since 2017: Make It Hot, Tina Snow, and Suga, with the latter two charting on the US Billboard 200. She signed to 300 Entertainment in 2018 and released her first full-length mixtape, Fever, in 2019.
In 2020, her single "Savage" went viral on TikTok and reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 after a remix with Beyoncé. Her feature on Cardi B's single "WAP" also reached number one and broke multiple US streaming records. Megan Thee Stallion has won two BET Awards, two BET Hip Hop Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and a Billboard Women in Music Award.
