Nicole Vaidišová (born 23 April 1989) is a Czech professional tennis player who announced a comeback in September 2014 after retiring in March 2010. She reached the semifinals of the Australian Open and French Open and the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. Vaidišová began playing tennis at six and trained at Nick Bollettieri's tennis academy in Florida. Her serve and powerful groundstrokes contributed to an aggressive, all-round game.
On 9 August 2006, at 17 years old, she became the 12th-youngest player to enter the WTA top 10, reaching a career-high ranking of No. 7 on 14 May 2007. Her ranking dropped to No. 177 by the time of her retirement in 2010. From March 2009, she was coached by her stepfather Ales Kodat, replacing David Felgate, and later hired coach Eric van Harpen by the end of 2009.
