Patty Duke, born on December 14, 1946, in New York City, was an American actress who died on March 29, 2016, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She became famous as a child star and won an Oscar for her role in The Miracle Worker (1962).
She later played a dual role in The Patty Duke Show (1963–1966) and appeared in numerous films and television productions, receiving several Emmy Awards. After being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, she became involved in mental health advocacy.
