Pia Merete Tjelta, born on September 12, 1977, in Stavanger, Norway, is a well-known Norwegian actress. She made her film debut in 2001 with the romantic comedy Mongoland. After a maternity break, she completed her acting studies at the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre in 2006.
Since then, Tjelta has appeared in numerous films and TV series, including Mars & Venus, 90 Minutes, Blindsone, and Made in Oslo. She won the Amanda Award for Best Leading Actress in 2019 for her role in Blindsone. She is also active on stage, performing at Det Norske Teatret and Oslo Nye Teater. In 2014, she co-launched a clothing collection with designer Tine Mollatt. Tjelta has a daughter from a previous relationship and has been in a relationship with actor Oddgeir Thune since 2015.
