American model Quiana Grant was featured in the 2008 edition of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She participated in a bodypainting spread, serving as a canvas for artist Joanne Gair, who has been creating bodypaint art for this issue for ten years. Quiana was among a record-breaking group of seven rookie models alongside Jessica Gomes, Melissa Haro, Yasmin Brunet, Melissa Baker, Jeisa Chiminazzo, and Jarah Mariano.
