Sky Tonia Ferreira (born July 8, 1992) is an American singer, songwriter, model, and actress. She began uploading videos on Myspace as a teenager, which led to her discovery by producers Bloodshy & Avant and a recording contract with Parlophone in 2009. Ferreira released her first extended play, As If!, in 2011, followed by Ghost in 2012, which included the critically acclaimed track "Everything Is Embarrassing" and collaborations with Jon Brion and Shirley Manson.
Her debut studio album Night Time, My Time was released on October 29, 2013, featuring a shift to experimental indie rock and synthpop. That year, she appeared in the film The Green Inferno and was arrested for drug possession. Ferreira gained mainstream exposure as an opening act for Miley Cyrus's Bangerz Tour in 2014. Her music style evolved from dance-pop to include acoustic, new wave, and indie rock, while her lyrics developed from themes of rebellion and teenage romance to personal insecurities and mature romantic topics. She has also modeled and was the spokeswoman for the hair care brand Redken in 2014.
