Tula Paulinea "Tulisa" Contostavlos (born 13 July 1988) is an English singer-songwriter, actress, and television personality. She was a member of the Camden-based hip hop group N-Dubz, formed in 2000 with her cousin Dappy and their friend Fazer. The group released three studio albums before announcing an indefinite hiatus in 2011.
In 2011 and 2012, Tulisa was a judge on The X Factor, mentoring the "Groups" category in her first year, which included the eventual winner Little Mix. On 16 March 2012, she announced via Twitter that N-Dubz had split up. Tulisa released her debut solo album, The Female Boss, on 3 December 2012. It received unfavorable reviews and poor first-week sales, but its lead single "Young" topped the UK Singles Chart.
