Uzoamaka Nwanneka "Uzo" Aduba (/ˈuːzoʊ əˈduːbə/; born February 10, 1981) is an American actress and vocalist. She gained attention for her portrayal of Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black (2013–present), where she was awarded a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series in 2014, a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2015, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series in both 2014 and 2015. Uzo Aduba is among the few performers to have received Emmy recognition across both comedy and drama categories for the same character, with Ed Asner being another example for his role as Lou Grant.
