Vanessa Anneliese Petruo (born 23 October 1979), also known as Vany, is a German singer–songwriter and actress. She gained international recognition as a member of the all-female pop band No Angels, formed during the talent show Popstars. The band achieved significant popularity in Central Europe with their debut single "Daylight in Your Eyes" and the album Elle'ments, selling more than 5 million units from 2001 to 2003. After No Angels disbanded in 2003, Petruo began a solo career.
Following the release of her solo song "Drama Queen," Petruo took greater control over her music and image. After a short hiatus, she incorporated blues, funk, and jazz into her debut solo album Mama Lilla Would, which received critical acclaim but was commercially unsuccessful. She has since focused on jazz singing and new compositions published on her MySpace. Petruo declined to rejoin No Angels in 2007. She has also worked as a voice actress and appeared in film and television, including the RTL series Wilde Engel (2005) and the film Where Is Fred? (2006).
