Alexandra Blaire Krieger (born July 28, 1984) is an American soccer player and FIFA Women's World Cup champion. Primarily a defender, she is a former member of the United States women's national soccer team and currently plays with Orlando Pride of the National Women's Soccer League. She made her first appearance for the United States national team at the 2008 Four Nations Tournament against Canada on January 16, 2008, and has made 98 total appearances for the team.
Krieger represented the United States at the 2011 and 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was part of the defense that held opponents scoreless for a record 540 minutes and helped lead the team to win the 2015 World Cup. She started all seven matches in 2015 and played every minute of all six matches in 2011. In 2012, she sustained a serious knee injury and missed the 2012 Olympics but was named to her first Olympic team in 2016 at the Rio Olympics, becoming the oldest first-time US women's soccer Olympian. Before joining Orlando Pride in 2016, Krieger played professionally for Washington Freedom, 1. FFC Frankfurt in Germany, Tyresö FF in Sweden, and Washington Spirit. During five years with FFC Frankfurt, she won the UEFA Women's Champions League and was the only US national team player competing overseas at that time.
