American actress, model, author, and animal rights advocate Elizabeth Alice "Ali" MacGraw (born April 1, 1939) started her professional journey with the film Goodbye, Columbus in 1969, earning a Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer. She achieved global recognition through her performance in Love Story (1970), which led to an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress and a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama. In 1972, she was recognized as the leading female box office star worldwide and received a hands and footprints tribute at Grauman's Chinese Theatre after only three films. MacGraw continued her career with roles in the crime thriller The Getaway (1972) alongside Steve McQueen, whom she married. Her later work includes the action movie Convoy (1978) and the miniseries The Winds of War (1983). In 1991, she released her memoir titled Moving Pictures.
