American former model Ashley C. Richardson, born on June 27, 1965, has graced the cover of Elle seven times. Additionally, she has appeared on the cover of Cosmopolitan twice. She was featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue six times (1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1995). Following her selection for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover in 1991, there were incorrect reports that linked her as the spouse of NFL quarterback Joe Montana from the San Francisco 49ers; in fact, she was married to nightclub owner Paul Montana (known as Punch), who is not related to Joe Montana. Their marriage concluded with a divorce several years later when Richardson reverted to using her full maiden name.

Richardson subsequently had a short relationship with model Brian Buzzini which resulted in their child named Daisy. She successfully shed all pregnancy weight and returned to feature in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue of 1995.

She also experienced a brief romantic involvement with John F. Kennedy Jr. during one of his hiatuses from long-term girlfriend Daryl Hannah.

In addition to her modeling career, Richardson participated extensively in advertising campaigns including numerous print advertisements and television commercials for L'Eggs Sheer Energy pantyhose.

In 1989, she played a significant part in John Mellencamp's music video "Let It All Hang Out," which is from the Big Daddy album.

At the peak of her modeling career, she visited U.S. military bases as part of initiatives aimed at boosting morale among American troops; this included a visit to San Diego Naval Submarine Base in 1991 where she toured aboard USS Haddock.
