Britta Hammelstein was born on August 8, 1981, in Friedberg, Hesse, Germany. She completed her acting training at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich from 2002 to 2005.
Since 2005, she has appeared in various film and television productions. She became widely known for her role as Anna Stickler in the Austrian series Der Winzerkönig. From 2008 to 2011, she was a permanent member of the Maxim Gorki Theater ensemble in Berlin. In the 2011/2012 season, she joined the Residenztheater Munich.
