Désirée Nosbusch, also known as Désirée Becker, was born on 14 January 1965 in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, to a Luxembourgish father and an Italian mother. She lived in Manhattan in the 1980s and in Los Angeles from the 1990s until 2008. Nosbusch speaks Luxembourgish, German, French, Italian, and English.
She has acted in French, German, and Italian-language films and television since her mid-teens, including participation in the youth drama group at Lycée Hubert Clément in Esch-sur-Alzette. Nosbusch presented the Eurovision Song Contest in 1984 in Luxembourg and hosted a children's version of the game show Ruck Zuck called "Kinder Ruck Zuck." She is also a singer and recorded a duet with Austrian singer Falco in 1984 titled "Kann es Liebe sein?".
