Kim Yo-jong, born on September 26, 1987, in Pyongyang, is the director of the Ministry of Propaganda and Agitation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and a leading figure in the country. She is responsible for the personality cult surrounding her brother, Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un, managing his public image and organizing his appearances and travels.
She writes his speeches and controls which images of him are released to the public. In 2016, at the 7th Party Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, she was appointed to the Central Committee, the inner circle of the party.
