English dancer, model, and former professional wrestler Layla Young (born El on June 25, 1977) is recognized for her tenure in WWE. She was the last original holder of the WWE Women's Championship.

After completing her education at a performing arts institution, El worked as a dancer for Carnival Cruise Lines and performed with the Miami Heat basketball team. She also danced for Kanye West during the MTV Video Music Awards. In 2006, she participated in the WWE Diva Search competition and secured victory, leading to a contract with WWE.

Starting on SmackDown, she transitioned to ECW in January 2007 where she created the Extreme Exposé dance group alongside Kelly Kelly and Brooke Adams. In 2008, she was drafted to Raw and began managing William Regal; a year later in 2009, she returned to SmackDown forming an alliance with Michelle McCool called LayCool. In May 2010, Layla captured the WWE Women's Championship for the first time, becoming the first British woman to achieve this title. She is also noted as the inaugural Diva Search winner to win this championship and held distinction as the final recognized WWE Women's Champion before its retirement that same year. After returning from an injury-related hiatus in April 2012, Layla claimed the WWE Divas Championship again and maintained it until September of that year. On July 29, 2015, Layla declared her retirement from competitive wrestling.
