After being discovered at the age of 17, Headey steadily appeared in minor and supporting roles across various films during the 1990s, eventually gaining prominence through her lead roles in major productions such as the fantasy movie The Brothers Grimm (2005), the action feature 300 (2007), where she played Gorgo, Queen of Sparta, and the adventure-biopic The Red Baron (2008).
