Spanish journalist Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano (pronounced: [leˈtiθja]; born 15 September 1972) serves as the Queen of Spain through her marriage to King Felipe VI, who took the throne on 19 June 2014 following the abdication of his father, Juan Carlos I. Prior to her union with Felipe, Letizia worked in journalism as a news presenter. The couple has two daughters: Leonor, Princess of Asturias and current heir presumptive; and Infanta Sofía.
