Maya Reis Gabeira (born April 10, 1987) is a Brazilian big wave surfer known for surfing a 73.5 ft (22.4 m) wave in Nazaré, Portugal in February 2020, which is recorded by Guinness World Records as the biggest wave ever surfed by a female. This was also the biggest wave surfed by anyone in 2020. She previously held the female record with a 68 ft (20.8 m) wave in January 2018.
Gabeira has received awards including the ESPY for Best Female Action Sports Athlete and is recognized as one of the best and most influential female surfers worldwide.
