Northern Irish television journalist Orla Chennaoui (née Heron), born on 13 November 1979, is also a former all-Ireland triple jump champion. She was born in Draperstown, located in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. After obtaining a degree in Law and French from Queen's University Belfast, she relocated to Edinburgh to pursue a postgraduate diploma in journalism at Napier University. During her time in Edinburgh, Chennaoui initiated her career in journalism through print media at Scotland on Sunday and the Edinburgh Evening News.

Chennaoui transitioned into broadcast journalism at 2 Ten FM, a community radio station situated in Reading, Berkshire. She then advanced to regional television news by contributing to the Meridian West service with ITV Meridian and the ITV News network based out of Southampton. Following this period, she returned to Scotland for a position at STV and Scotland Today. In 2005, she became Northern Ireland correspondent for Sky News. By 2010, Chennaoui shifted focus to sports broadcasting with Sky Sports where she specialized in cycling; additionally, she served as Sky Sports' main correspondent during the Olympic Games held in 2012 and 2016. In 2019, Chennaoui departed from Sky to become the lead presenter for Eurosport’s cycling event coverage.
