The Sugababes are an English pop girl group formed in 1998 by Siobhán Donaghy, Mutya Buena, and Keisha Buchanan. Their debut album, One Touch, was released in the UK on 27 November 2000, peaking at number 26 and eventually earning a Gold certification. Donaghy left the group in 2001, and Heidi Range joined, leading to increased commercial success. Buena departed in December 2005 and was replaced by Amelle Berrabah. In September 2009, Buchanan was replaced by Jade Ewen. The lineup of Range, Berrabah, and Ewen released the group's seventh studio album, Sweet 7, in 2010 before announcing an indefinite hiatus in 2011. The original lineup reformed in 2011 under the name Mutya Keisha Siobhan.
In 2006, British Hit Singles & Albums named the Sugababes the most successful female act of the 21st century, with six UK number one singles and eighteen UK top ten hits. Their six number-one singles include "Freak like Me", "Round Round", "Hole in the Head", "Push the Button", "Walk This Way", and "About You Now". They released five UK top ten albums, four of which reached at least platinum status, and received six Brit Award nominations, winning Best British Dance Act in 2003. The group has been frequently featured in British tabloids due to lineup changes and reported internal conflicts.
