Choi Jin-ri (March 29, 1994 – October 13 or 14, 2019), known by her stage name Sulli, was a South Korean actress, singer, and model. She debuted as a child actress in the SBS historical drama Ballad of Seodong (2005) and appeared in television series and films including Love Needs a Miracle (2005), Drama City (2007), Vacation (2006), Punch Lady (2007), and BA:BO (2008). She gained prominence as a member of the girl group f(x), formed in 2009, which achieved critical and commercial success with four Korean number-one singles and international recognition as the first K-pop act to perform at SXSW.
Sulli returned to acting with the SBS romantic comedy To the Beautiful You (2012), earning two SBS Drama Awards and a Paeksang Arts Awards nomination. She starred in the films The Pirates (2014) and Fashion King (2014) before taking a hiatus due to health issues and leaving f(x) in August 2015. Between 2015 and 2017, she worked in modeling and became a global brand ambassador for Estée Lauder. She appeared in the film Real (2017) and returned to music with a guest feature on Dean's "Dayfly" in 2018 and her debut solo single "Goblin" in June 2019. Sulli was noted for her outspoken persona and was the most Googled person in South Korea in 2017, surpassing President Moon Jae-in.
