The band No Angels originated as the first group formed through a German casting show. They emerged as the winners of the inaugural season of "Popstars," a casting program first broadcast on ProSieben in 2000.
Owing to significant public attention and high viewership for the novel format, the members of No Angels gained prominence throughout Europe. They remain the most commercially successful girl group in continental Europe, having sold more than five million records and achieved four number-one singles.
Following their disbandment in 2004, No Angels attempted a comeback in 2007. The reunion featured only four members, as Vanessa Petruo declined to participate. This comeback attempt proved unsuccessful. Several months later, Jessica Wahls also departed from the group.
Seven years later, Sandy Moelling and Lucy Diakovska also left No Angels. Subsequently, some former members participated in nude photoshoots for Playboy magazine.
