She has achieved the title of five-time Canadian National Girls Champion and won the U.S. Girls Nationals at the age of 15. In March 2016, she reached her peak FIDE Elo rating of 2092 and currently holds the title of Woman FIDE Master from the International Chess Federation.

Botez started sharing online chess content in 2016 while pursuing her studies at Stanford University. Together with her younger sister Andrea, she co-manages the BotezLive channels on Twitch and YouTube, amassing over 900,000 followers.
