Estonian politician Anna-Maria Galojan, born on 23 February 1982, gained attention due to her conviction for embezzlement in Estonia, subsequent exile in London, and extradition proceedings in the UK legal system. She is characterized as both one of Estonia's "most recognized politicians and public figures" and referred to as the "Estonian Swindler." Galojan identifies herself as a "political analyst and dissident."

She previously led the youth division of the Estonian Reform Party and ran for parliament without success while engaging with the European movement within Estonia.

In May 2011, she was found guilty of misappropriating 60,000 euros from European Movement Estonia, where she held the CEO position. Following this incident, she relocated to London to contest extradition. She claims political refugee status after disputes with her party; others have described her case as peculiar concerning media portrayal and assert that funds were misallocated prior to her tenure as CEO. On 19 February 2015, she was extradited back to Estonia and placed in Tallinn Prison.
