Former German speed skater Anna Christine Friesinger-Postma, known as "Anni," was born on 11 January 1977 in Bad Reichenhall. Her father, Georg Friesinger, is German, while her mother, Janina ("Jana") Korowicka, hails from Poland; Jana represented Poland in speed skating at the 1976 Winter Olympics. Additionally, her brother Jan and sister Agnes are both involved in the sport as competitive speed skaters. In July 2010, Friesinger concluded her professional sports career due to significant cartilage damage affecting her right knee.

On 11 August 2009, she wed former Dutch athlete Ids Postma, who had been her partner for an extended period; the ceremony occurred at Schloss Mirabell with festivities held at Schloss Aigen. As of November 2013, she resides in Salzburg, Austria and intends to relocate to the Netherlands to join Postma on his farm located in Dearsum.
