Welsh actress Eve Myles (born 26 July 1978) is a graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, having completed her studies in 2000. That same year, she started her portrayal of Ceri Lewis in the Welsh-language drama series Belonging, a character she continued to portray until the show's conclusion in 2009. Myles' early work on UK television includes appearances in the 2001 miniseries Tales from Pleasure Beach, the 2003 drama Colditz, and as Gwyneth in the Doctor Who episode "The Unquiet Dead" from 2005.

Her role in Doctor Who led to her securing a principal part in its spin-off series Torchwood, where she played Gwen Cooper from 2006 to 2011. Myles’ performance in Torchwood earned her a Bafta Cymru award for Best Actress in 2007. She also returned to voice Gwen for both the Torchwood Radio Plays released in 2009 and 2011 and reprised this role again for Big Finish's Torchwood productions in 2015. Additional television roles include participating in the miniseries Little Dorrit (2008), appearing as one of the characters in Merlin's premiere episode (also from 2008), and starring as Frankie in the titular role during the drama series that aired in 2013. In addition, she took on Claire Ripley’s character for season two of Broadchurch released in 2014. Furthermore, she lent her voice to one of Dragon Age II's main characters back in 2011.

As an accomplished performer on stage, Myles received an Ian Charleson Award for her performances within Royal Shakespeare Company productions of Titus Andronicus and The Taming of the Shrew back in 2004. Her further theatrical credits encompass Henry IV Parts I and II at London’s National Theatre also performed that same year, along with taking on Emma’s role during Zach Braff's play All New People when it debuted across UK stages back in 2012.
