German actress Isa Andersen, born Isa Jank, is recognized for her portrayal of Clarissa von Anstetten in the series Verbotene Liebe (Forbidden Love).

Isa commenced her professional work in Hollywood during the mid-1980s. She appeared alongside James Belushi in Real Men and had additional roles in Nightangel, Cheers, and Airwolf.

In 1992, she opted to shift her career direction by taking a part in the well-known legal drama Liebling Kreuzberg. This decision led her to pause her endeavors in the United States and return to Germany.

In 1994, Isa became part of the cast of the German soap opera Verbotene Liebe (Forbidden Love). She portrayed Clarissa von Anstetten for nearly three years before being temporarily written out due to a successful kidnapping plot that unfolded over six months. After returning to the show, she continued for another two years. By late 1999, Jank began experiencing conflicts regarding her character but made a planned return following an eight-week hiatus on-screen in February 2000. At this point, tensions between Jank and the show's producers seemed evident, leading to her permanent departure from the series during a highly publicized exit storyline in summer 2001; this involved Clarissa facing off against archenemy Tanja von Anstetten, played by Miriam Lahnstein. Following a plane crash incident where Clarissa was presumed dead, even with Lahnstein's reappearance in 2004, there was no confirmation of Clarissa's fate from the show.

In October 2005, Isa Jank made a comeback on television as Annabelle Gravenberg—the antagonist—in ZDF's telenovela Wege zum Glück. Annabelle shared numerous traits with Clarissa and prompted frequent inquiries about Jank’s previous role on Verbotene Liebe. She remained with this telenovela for three years until Annabelle met her end onscreen in November 2008 just before its conclusion.

Given that Wege zum Glück was produced by Grundy UFA—also responsible for Verbotene Liebe—speculation arose regarding Jank’s potential return as Clarissa due to declining story quality within the latter show that needed characters like hers; however, Isa dismissed any possibility of such a comeback. It remains unclear whether discussions occurred between Verbotene Liebe’s producers and Jank at that time. Nevertheless, more than two years later—in early 2011—Das Erste announced Isa Jank’s reinstatement as Clarissa. Her first appearance took place in June 2011 as part of a six-month special filmed on Mallorca before she reunited with fellow cast members in Cologne.
