Czech professional tennis player Nicole Vaidišová (Czech pronunciation: [Л€nЙЄkol Л€vajЙџЙЄКѓovaЛђ]; born 23 April 1989) officially returned to the sport in September 2014, after having stepped away from competition in March 2010.

Vaidišová reached the semifinals of both the Australian Open and French Open and made it to the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. She began her tennis journey at age six, training at Nick Bollettieri's academy located in Bradenton, Florida. Her serve was recognized as a key strength. The combination of her powerful groundstrokes with her serving ability allowed for an aggressive and versatile playing style. On August 9, 2006, she became the twelfth-youngest athlete to achieve a top-10 ranking on the WTA Tour when she was just 17 years old. On May 14, 2007, she attained her highest career ranking of World No. 7. However, her performance declined shortly thereafter; by the time she announced her retirement in 2010, she was ranked No. 177.

In March 2009, Ales Kodat took over as her coach after David Felgate ended his tenure. By late 2009, she had engaged Eric van Harpen as a leading coach.
