Mexican singer Paulina Susana Rubio-Dosamantes (Spanish pronunciation: [pauЛ€lina Л€ruОІjo]; born 17 June 1971) is also known for her work as an actress, television music competition judge, hostess, model, and entrepreneur. Often referred to as the Queen of Latin Pop, she holds the title of the highest-selling female pop artist in Mexico. She initiated her musical journey as a founding member of the pop ensemble Timbiriche from 1981 until 1991, before departing to pursue a solo career.

Her first album, La Chica Dorada (1992), was launched through EMI Music and achieved position number 42 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums while reaching number 2 on Billboard's Latin Pop chart. The initial single "Mío" debuted at position number 19 on Hot Latin Tracks and climbed to number 3. Subsequent albums such as 24 Kilates (1993), El Tiempo Es Oro (1995), and Planeta Paulina (1996) further expanded Rubio's presence across Hispanic America. In that same year, she ended her contract with EMI Music after paying a substantial sum for artistic freedom and creative expression.

Under Universal Music, she released her fifth studio project Paulina (2000) along with Border Girl (2002), both achieving global commercial success; the former garnered numerous nominations and awards. As reported by Billboard, Paulina ranked as the best-selling Latin album in the U.S. during 2001 with over 800,000 copies sold domestically. The "Paulina" album has exceeded four million units sold worldwide and is considered one of Mexico’s top-selling albums ever, receiving two diamond certifications for sales surpassing two million globally in just one year according to Nielsen Soundscan. Her subsequent projects Pau-Latina (2004) and Ananda (2006) solidified Rubio’s status internationally as a prominent figure in music. Her ninth release Gran City Pop (2009) introduced an innovative concept reflecting her life experiences through music gained from traveling around the globe. Her most recent album Brava! (2011) explores electronic genres. In addition to her recording career, Rubio served as a coach on La Voz... Mexico during its second season in 2012 and later took on roles as a coach for La Voz Kids while judging the American version of The X Factor in 2013.

At the start of 2015, she released “Mi nuevo Vicio,” featuring young band Morato; this single topped charts in Spain along with various countries throughout L.A. and Europe. That summer saw another collaboration with Juan Magan and DCS on “Vuelve,” which received positive feedback from fans due to its Latin musical influence.

E! Entertainment recognized Rubio at number twelve among their list of the "25 Sexiest Pop Divas." As a solo artist, she has surpassed sales exceeding twenty million records globally and is regarded by Univision as one of the most impactful figures within Latin entertainment.
