American rapper and songwriter Maria-Cecilia Simone Kelly, who goes by the stage name Rico Nasty, was born on May 7, 1997. She is recognized for her distinctive vocal style that blends elements of punk rap with what she terms "sugar trap." Her rise in the music scene began in 2018 with tracks like "Smack a Bitch" and "Poppin." During her high school years, Rico Nasty launched her solo career in 2014 and had released five mixtapes by late 2017. Following her breakthrough in 2018, she joined Atlantic Records to put out her fifth mixtape titled Nasty (2018). Her sixth project, Anger Management (2019), created alongside collaborator Kenny Beats, came out under her own label Sugar Trap.
