Theresa Lynn Russell (born March 20, 1957) is an American actress. She made her film debut in The Last Tycoon (1976) directed by Elia Kazan and had a lead role opposite Dustin Hoffman in Straight Time (1978). Russell received critical praise for her role in Nicolas Roeg's thriller Bad Timing (1980). After marrying Roeg in 1982, she appeared in several films directed by him, including Eureka (1983), Insignificance (1985), and Cold Heaven (1991).
Russell played lead roles in the controversial films Whore and Steven Soderbergh's Kafka (both 1991). She was cast in the box-office thriller Wild Things (1998) and starred in the drama The Believer (2001). In the 2000s, she appeared in the HBO miniseries Empire Falls (2005) and had a supporting role in Spider-Man 3 (2007).
