American recording artist Ameriie Mi Marie Rogers (born January 12, 1980), professionally known as Ameriie, is also a record producer and actress. She launched her career in 2002 with the successful debut album All I Have. In 2003, she contributed to the development of the BET original program The Center, which she hosted as well. The show had a brief run due to Amerie's casting in the leading role of the film First Daughter released in 2004, featuring actors Katie Holmes, Marc Blucas, and Michael Keaton. In 2005, she put out her second album Touch that included her most recognized single "1 Thing." This track and album resulted in two Grammy nominations for her and facilitated crossover appeal. Her third studio effort, Because I Love It, saw moderate international acclaim upon its release in 2007; however, it did not launch in North America leading to her departure from Columbia Records' lineup. In 2009, Amerie presented her fourth studio project titled In Love & War under Island Def Jam.

On May 20, 2016, Ameriie independently launched an EP named Drive. She made an appearance on The Breakfast Club at Power 105.1 where she confirmed plans to continue releasing new music throughout that year.
