English singer, songwriter, and musician Florence Leontine Mary Welch (born 28 August 1986) is recognized as the frontwoman of the indie rock group Florence and the Machine.

The band's initial album, Lungs, came out in 2009; it reached number one on the UK charts on 17 January 2010 after a run of 28 weeks. Lungs was awarded the Brit Award for Best British Album in 2010. Their follow-up studio release, Ceremonials, launched in October 2011, entered the charts at number one in the UK and secured a position at number six in the US. The third album from the band, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, debuted in 2015 to favorable reviews from critics and topped both UK and US music charts.
