Polish professional tennis player Iga Świątek (pronounced [ˈiɡa ˈɕfjɔntɛk]; born May 31, 2001) currently holds a career-best Women's Tennis Association (WTA) ranking of No. 17 globally and is the leading teenager in women's singles rankings. She secured the title at the 2020 French Open, becoming the first athlete from Poland to claim a Grand Slam singles championship. With this victory, she also set records as the youngest singles champion at this event since Rafael Nadal in 2005 and as the youngest female champion since Monica Seles in 1992.

Świątek's father, Tomasz, was an Olympic rower. In her junior career, she won the girls' doubles title at the 2018 French Open with partner Caty McNally and claimed victory in girls' singles at Wimbledon that same year. Additionally, she helped lead Poland to win the Junior Fed Cup in 2016 and earned a gold medal for doubles representing Poland alongside Slovenian Kaja Juvan during the Summer Youth Olympics in 2018. Świątek started participating consistently on the WTA Tour in 2019 after making her tour debut that year. At just 18 years old, she entered into the top 50 following her first appearance in a WTA final and reaching round four at Roland Garros where she faced defeat against Simona Halep. During her remarkable journey to winning the French Open title in 2020, Świątek triumphed over top-seeded Halep again during that same round without dropping any sets or losing more than five games throughout any match played during that tournament.

Świątek exhibits an all-court playing style. In recognition of her skills, she received the WTA Fan Favorite Shot of the Year award for a baseline drop shot back in 2019 while finishing as runner-up to Halep for WTA Fan Favorite Singles Player of Year honors that same season.
