American soap opera actress Jaime Lyn Bauer (originally named Norma Marvhne Bauer, born March 9, 1949, in Phoenix, Arizona) is recognized for her contributions to the genre.

The former Miss Phoenix pageant winner is primarily known for her extended roles in two soap operas: Lorie Brooks on The Young and the Restless from 1973 until 1982, with later appearances in 1984 and again in 2002; and Dr. Laura Spencer Horton on Days of Our Lives. This character had been absent from the screen for over a decade before she took on the role from 1993 to 1999, returning briefly in 2003, as well as in both 2010 and 2013.

In addition to her soap work, she featured in NBC's short-lived prime time series Bare Essence during its run in 1983.

Bauer has also acted in films such as Centerfold Girls and Young Doctors in Love. Her television film credits include The Girl Who Came Gift Wrapped, The Chinese Typewriter, Mysterious Island of Beautiful Women, Where the Hell's That Gold?, and Pray TV. She was part of the mini-series titled Secrets as well.

She made guest appearances on various primetime television series including The Rookies, S.W.A.T., The F.B.I., Bronk, Baretta, Kate McShane, CHiPS, Time Express, Lottery!, Mike Hammer!, The Young Riders!, Fantasy Island!, The Love Boat!, Hotel!, and Knots Landing!. As herself, Bauer participated twice on Circus of the Stars; appeared six times on Match Game; made an appearance on Soap Talk; and featured in CBS's special program celebrating soaps' history titled "50 Years of Soaps: An All-Star Celebration."

In February 1970 she graced the cover of Playboy magazine with plans for another feature set for January 1982 entitled "The Women of the Soaps: The Bad and the Beautiful."

On June 14th of year ten onward into April tenth year thirteen Jamie reprised her role as Laura Spencer Horton briefly within Days of Our Lives.

Bauer is expected to return once more to Days of Our Lives portraying Laura Horton across three episodes scheduled for September twenty-sixteen.
