English singer and songwriter Jorja Alice Smith, born on June 11, 1997, hails from Walsall in the West Midlands. She attended Aldridge Secondary School alongside her close friend Eleni 'Attitude Problem' Page. In November 2016, she launched her first extended play titled Project 11.

Since January 2016, Smith has put out numerous singles and worked with various artists such as Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Kali Uchis, and Stormzy. In October and November of 2017, she was featured as the opening performer for Bruno Mars during his 24K Magic World Tour. Her first studio album, Lost & Found (2018), received positive reviews and reached number three on the UK Albums Chart. In the same year, Smith took home the Brit Critics' Choice Award. At the Brit Awards in 2019, she was honored as Best British Female Artist and also earned a nomination for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards.
