American actress Julie Newmar (born August 16, 1933) is recognized for her extensive work in theater, film, and television. She was honored with a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her portrayal of Katrin Sveg in the Broadway production of The Marriage-Go-Round in 1958, later reprising this role in the film adaptation released in 1961. During the 1960s, she portrayed Catwoman across two seasons on the TV series Batman (1966–67). Her theatrical repertoire includes performances in the Ziegfeld Follies from 1956, as well as regional roles such as Lola in Damn Yankees! (1961) and Irma in Irma la Douce (1965). Additionally, she featured in George Michael's music video for "Too Funky," released in 1992, and made an appearance as herself in the film To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar from 1995.
