Welsh lyric mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins OBE (born 29 June 1980) is a singer and songwriter recognized for her classical crossover music. She performs a variety of works, including operatic arias, popular songs, musical theatre pieces, and hymns.

Jenkins began her career by winning various singing contests during her childhood and later pursued studies at the Royal Academy of Music. She gained significant public visibility in 2003 after performing at Westminster Cathedral to commemorate Pope John Paul II's silver jubilee. Since 2004, she has produced several albums that have achieved considerable success on both UK and international charts. Her albums were awarded Classic Brit Awards for Album of the Year in 2005 and 2006. Additionally, she has been featured extensively in live performances, including events for British military personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan; she has also performed at sports events, television programs, and numerous charitable functions. In Spring 2012, Jenkins participated in the US reality competition Dancing with the Stars, where she secured second place behind NFL Super Bowl champion Donald Driver.
