American basketball player Nnemkadi "Nneka" Ogwumike (born July 2, 1990) represents the Los Angeles Sparks in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), having been selected first overall in the 2012 WNBA Draft. Shortly after her selection, Ogwumike entered into a sponsorship agreement with Nike. She has a sibling, Chiney Ogwumike, who also competes in the WNBA. In 2016, she received the title of WNBA MVP.

Additionally, she is a member of Dynamo Kursk in Russia. The name "Nneka" translates to "Mother is Supreme" in Igbo. Standing at 6'2", she plays as a power forward. During her high school years at Cypress-Fairbanks High School in Cypress, Texas, she guided her team to win a 5A State Championship during her final year. While attending Stanford University, she contributed to the Cardinal's advancement to the Final Four on four occasions. As of 2016, Ogwumike was appointed President of the WNBA Players Association.
