Swedish singer, songwriter, and television host Petra Linnea Paula Marklund (pronounced [Л€pЙ›tra Л€marklЙµnd]; born September 12, 1984), also recognized by her earlier stage name September, began her music career in professional recording studios at the age of twelve. She entered the music industry with her first single "La La La (Never Give It Up)" in 2003, which was part of her debut album September released in 2004.

Marklund's second studio project, In Orbit, released in 2005 and awarded a Grammis Award, featured two successful singles; "Satellites" and "Cry for You," reaching #8 and #1 respectively on the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay chart. The track "Cry for You" is noted as her most commercially successful international release and received a nomination for Sweden's Government Music Export Prize in 2008 after selling over one million copies globally.

In her home country of Sweden, Marklund achieved major success with the Swedish-language song "Mikrofonkåt," originally by rapper Petter. In 2012, she launched her first Swedish-language studio album titled Inferno under her full name to differentiate from September. The lead single "Händerna mot himlen" received a certification of 6x Platinum as of May 5, 2015. Her subsequent album Ensam inte stark was released later that year in November.

Marklund served as the presenter for the Swedish sing-along program Allsång på Skansen from 2014 to 2015. Her second Swedish-language album Ensam inte stark debuted in late 2015.
